life lately + blog everyday in july

2014, Blogging, Career, Culture, Family and Friends, Food, Inspiration

i’ve finished two books in 2 weeks and had it not been for work, i would have finished them sooner.

in my last post i talked about the rosie project (graeme simsion you genius you}. i decided to buy the fault in our stars, hesitantly might i add as i always am with books that are films and ‘all-the-rave’. but it blew me away.

‘that’s the thing about pain. it demands to be felt.’

how true in this? probably my favorite quote from the book. and i don’t have it with me right now so i hope i haven’t botched it.

i’m currently reading what alice forgot and i’m dying to know it all already.

the book-worm in me is oh-so-happy.

can you believe tomorrow is july? the year is flying by! but july means it’s my birthday month! i still get a little bit excited about birthdays. it’ll be my 29th which means a year from 30. when did that happen? but then i have a feeling i’m going to be saying that a lot more as the years go by.

last year i did the blog everyday challenge for my birthday month and as i love traditions i thought why not carry it on?! thanks to great blog posts dotted around the world wide web, i’ve come up with 31 topics for the next 31 days. and here is the list to give you a little taster of what’s coming:

  • Day 1, Tuesday: The story of your life in 250 words or less (or one paragraph… no one will be counting your words… probably)
  • Day 2, Wednesday: Educate us on something you know a lot about or are good at. Take any approach you’d like (serious and educational or funny and sarcastic).
  • Day 3, Thursday: Favourite things on the internet from the past year.
  • Day 4, Friday: Favourite quote (from a person, from a book, etc) and why you love it.
  • Day 5, Saturday: A letter to 16-year-old me.
  • Day 6, Sunday: Perfect day in the {home} office.
  • Day 7, Monday: The thing(s) you’re most afraid of.
  • Day 8, Tuesday: A piece of advice you have for others. Anything at all.
  • Day 9, Wednesday: Your summer book reads.
  • Day 10, Thursday: Most embarrassing moment (s). Spill.
  • Day 11, Friday: Sell yourself in 10 words or less.

  • Day 20, Sunday: A diary exert.
  • Day 21, Monday: Make-up must-haves.
  • Day 22, Tuesday: Rant about something. Get up on your soapbox and tell us how you really feel. (a pet peeve, a current event, a controversial topic, something your husband or roommate or neighbour or boss does that really ticks you off).
  • Day 23, Wednesday: Things you’ve learned that school won’t teach you.
  • Day 24, Thursday: Favourite apps and why.

  1. Well tomorrow starts my birthday month and like you I will be 29 in just a few weeks! I love this idea! Now to decide if I want to piggyback off of your topics or come up with my own. Hmmm thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Oh you can absolutely use this list if you wish! I would just ask if you could link back to my blog? Yay for July birthdays!

    1. Wait so you are the 12th too? Fun!! Maybe we could link to each other’s blogs at some point during the 31 days? Happy Early Birthday to you too!
