change

2013, December

i have an explanation for going awol these last few weeks on this little space of mine. and i promise to share with you.

hot springs – quite possibly my favorite thing in the history of ever.

in the meantime {and actually due to the changes that have occurred in my life recently)…

“when we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not yet ready. the challenge will not wait. life does not look back. a week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”
paulo coelho, the devil and miss prym

and on that same notion i love this gem from apple. here’s to being a ‘rebel’:

“here’s to the crazy ones. the misfits. the rebels. the troublemakers. the round pegs in the square holes. the ones who see things differently. they’re not fond of rules. and they have no respect for the status quo. you can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. about the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. because they change things. they push the human race forward. and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

i don’t claim to be such a person, and surely being such a person is not an easy task. i believe it takes a colossal amount of courage to be the rebel. to not just think outside of the box but the be outside of the box. and perhaps it is rather lonely outside of that box.

but being outside of the box means change. it means making a difference. and it means putting your stamp on this experience we call life. in whatever sphere we see fit.

so there is accepting change and there is being one that orchestrates change. and we can do both.
